Hyacinthoides non-scripta

Native English bluebells are under threat due to hybridization with the garden-variety or Spanish bluebell (Hyacinthoides hispanica). Native bluebells can be distinguished by the deep hyacynth blue colour, drooping flowers and sweet scent. Spanish bluebells are paler with no scent and the flowers do not droop.
