Sawtooth feather star

Oligometra serripinna

This feather star is embeded within a colourful soft coral species (Dendronephthya klunzingeri). One could easily think that both of these species are plants but the featherstar is an echinoderm, closely related to starfish and sea urchins. Although they stay in one place most of the time, featherstars can swim by waving their arms.
