About the photographer
Georgina Smith B.Sc. (Hons.)

Born 1971, Georgina studied animal biology at university, gaining her degree in 1993. She spent a brief spell assisting students at a marine reserve in Auckland, New Zealand but currently makes her living as an IT support manager.  In the past Georgina has been a researcher for Survival at Anglia Television and also for BBC Wildlife Magazine.

She is also a volunteer photographer for the Woodland Trust which uses her work for publications, greetings cards and calendars. Some of Georgina's images have been "highly commended" by BBC Wildlife Magazine.

As an experienced scuba diver and instructor, Georgina first took up photography in 1998 when she was bought a Sea and Sea underwater camera. She now uses a Nikon F80 for slide photography, a Nikon D70s for digital and a Canon PowerShot S80 with waterproof housing for underwater shots.

"As an amateur, my collection is small, but I am adding to the gallery all the time.  I hope you like my pictures (even the fuzzy ones) and they inspire you to enjoy and protect our natural heritage.”

Georgina's pictures are available for sale at www.fotoLIBRA.com or you can download a selection of wallpapers for free.
